Here’s something new that i recently learned and has made my crafting life easier: when pinning fabrics together to sew, put the pins in cross ways instead of with the direction of the fabric. This will keep the fabric from sliding back and forth while you are sewing.

This is really useful if you are sewing something that needs to line up really perfectly (like quilting), or something that could pucker (like hemming pants).

You’ll have to use a lot more pins, and your project will look like a death trap, but it actually holds, and  you can sew with your pins in and take them all out when you done to!
